If you have been searching for a gut reset, this is the plain version of one: a plan, a calendar and somewhere to write it down. A reset of the shopping list, not of the body. It is a meal planning guide, not medical advice, and it is designed to be done alongside your GP or an Accredited Practising Dietitian.

Most elimination plans work from one list, and that is why so many of them end without an answer. A standard low FODMAP elimination removes fermentable carbohydrates — the FODMAP groups — which takes wheat and lactose off the plate as carbohydrates, but never puts gluten, dairy protein or added sugar on trial as themselves. A functional-medicine style elimination does the opposite: it removes gluten, dairy and added sugar, while onion, garlic, apple and honey stay in the diet untested for the entire fortnight. 15 Days runs both lists at once for the first seven days, so that when foods come back one group at a time, nothing has gone untested by default. If you only test one list, you only get answers about that list.

The order of reintroduction matters more than most plans admit. From day 8, one food group is reintroduced at a time across three days, with clear days built in between each test, because a test with no gap in front of it gives two foods a single result. Wheat is scheduled last and dairy second to last. A full FODMAP reintroduction — six groups at three days each, plus rest days — takes six to eight weeks, so fifteen days covers the elimination week and the first tests, in the order that keeps everything after it readable. That is arithmetic, not marketing, and you should know it before you buy rather than after.

Everything in the plan is written for an Australian kitchen and an Australian supermarket. The weekly shopping lists use Coles and Woolworths language and are grouped by aisle rather than by food category, so the shop takes one pass instead of two. Portions follow the low FODMAP convention where the dose decides whether a food is tolerated, and the meals are built around rice, potato and protein rather than salad, so nobody spends the fortnight hungry. Ritual Moment is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Monash University, Coles or Woolworths, and product ranges and formulations change — always check the label.

This plan is not for everyone, and saying so is more useful than pretending otherwise. If coeliac disease has not been ruled out, testing comes before gluten comes out of the diet: the test is only valid while gluten is still being eaten. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for anyone underweight, or for anyone with a history of disordered eating, and any food that has ever caused a serious reaction stays out rather than being tested at home. The elimination phase is not designed to be followed long term. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or claims to cure any condition, and no outcome is promised — at the end of fifteen days you may have a food you can point at, a food you can rule out, or fifteen dated pages and no clear answer yet. All three beat a guess.
